In the late 1970's, New York investment bank Dillon Read's Chief Economist Herbert Lewis began conducting overseas programs for institutional investors to evaluate first-hand the risks and rewards of international investment and asset diversification. Later spun off as a separate company in the 1980's and renamed in the 1990's, Worldview has hosted programs in 7 European, 10 Asian, and 5 Latin American countries as well as in the United States. In each country, face-to-face high level meetings are conducted with economic planners, political leaders, financial experts, corporate executives, leading journalists and editorial writers, prominent think tanks, and others well-positioned to evauate that country as an investment destination.

In the past 5 years, the coverage has expanded to include America (programs in Washington DC, Silicon Valley, and other US cities). Participation has expanded to now include 50 investment and financial institutions from 12 American and 8 foreign cities.
